10th Day of the Blog Tour for Faith Lights a Flame

You only have 4 days after today to share one of my Blog Tour stops on your page and sign up for a chance at the free give away. Today, Day 10 is another fun interview. This one is with Jodie Wolfe. See her entire blog at https://www.jodiewolfe.com/.../faith-lights-a-flame-by.../

How did you get started in writing?

I first recognized the power of writing in 5th grade. Our dog Frisky was hit by a car as we children waited for the school bus. Not being allowed to stay with him, I climbed the bus stairs and sobbed all the way to school. Coincidentally, we were assigned an essay in English that day. When I read mine aloud, I saw even boys with tears in their eyes. I loved knowing my writing made them feel what I did. BTW, Frisky was alive but with a broken leg when I got home.

Do you have a favorite scene in your newest release?

Walker’s first day as a teacher and meeting Chessa. Chapter 9

If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go?

I grew up in Colorado, so anywhere with a beach and my Hugsband is a great vacation. But my treadmill has a tour of Germany in Christmas and I’d love to return there because no country embraces the holiday like the Germans. I can smell Lebkuchen, gingerbread. I could also add another Literary Pilgrimage to visit Wittenburg where God used the author and musician, Martin Luther to change the world.

What do you plan to work on next?

I’m currently researching and outlining a story based on pre-WWII life.

What advice can you give to writers trying to break into the publishing world?

I’ve learned several things in my author journey about breaking into the publishing world. Constantly improve my skills. Be encouraged that writing is hard work, but well worth it. As brilliant as one’s ideas are, no one else will write them for me! Develop a thick skin, be willing to learn, and find a way to reward myself. (Don’t think you know it all, like I did initially…LOL!) The Lord will guide me in unexpected ways, when I trust Him.
