Faith Lights a Flame by Loni Kemper Moore is a work of Clean Historical fiction. Seventeen-year-old Francesca “Chessa” Campbell wants nothing more than to have her perfect family back. But her father is on trial for murder. Her mother ends up becomes ill sudddenly. Plus, Franchesca becomes the target of prejudice. Then one act changes her life. She finds herself having to navigate an unexpected future.

Wanting to earn enough money to finish college and forget the woman who broke his heart, Walker Smythe rides a train for three days from Indiana to the Texas Panhandle to become a cowhand. But then he unexpectedly becomes a teacher. An unexpected accident changes his life as well.

When their paths cross, after Franchesca’s unexpected act, they find themselves going down a different path. I loved how the author developed the characters and storyline. Set during the time of the dust storms across the plains. The pair find themselves facing the possible destruction of their relationship or to pull them together. The story moves at an excellent pace and kept me interested.
